‘City Lights’ is the new Ep of the Italian singer and producer Lion Warriah.
The work is born out of the longtime and solid collaboration with Bassliner – Italian producer and bass player who composed and arranged the 4 tracks – and has been mixed side by side by the two artists. The work started in early 2019 by putting together ideas and influences coming from a wide variety of musical styles that influenced the artists in the latest times. Sounds like French lo-fi, Uk dub, New Jamaican wave, 80’s synths and arps, dub techno’s misty atmospheres, and sounds of the American Trap.
‘City Lights’ is a blend of these sounds and influences and its aim is finding new expressive forms, dealing with both engaged and easier lyrics themes, describing different contexts of life. The Ep is enriched by the presence of the Paris-based Italian singer Marina P, with her unique vocal tone and innovative style on the track ‘Destiny’.
City lights is a further step into a long time and productive collaboration between the two Italian artists, following the first Ep ‘Bassliner meets Lion Warriah’; ‘Melody Riddim’ release (hosting singers like grammy-nominated Tippa Irie and Sista Awa) and the concept Ep B.A.S.S. – both pressed on vinyl by 4Weed Records.
City Lights artwork has been created by the designer and art director Beppe Conti.
